Inspiration

I always had a “so what” kind of attitude that most people have when it comes to the slaughter of animals for our food. I considered it their purpose, to sustain life sitting on a higher link on the food chain. And maybe if farming were conducted in the same way it was when our grandparents were young, I might still be okay with it. However, it is not and as an animal-lover I can no longer turn a blind-eye to factory farming and go on enjoying the same foods I grew up on.

After the jump are a couple videos that inspire me to continue on this path and assure me that I’m doing the right thing. It takes a lot for me to cry and I was definitely misty-eyed by the end of both (those of you who cry at TV commercials should have a tissue on hand). They have both been produced by the non-profit organization Farm Sanctuary.
