She Wants to Move

This is totally unveg-related, but it is dance-related, and if you know me you know that dance, above all else, is something that has always been an important part of my life.  Thus, I had to pass along this wonderful program created by the New York City Ballet called MOVES.  It is a group that you can join via NYCB’s website especially for 20 and 30 somethings with an interest in dance, but maybe not the knowledge or means to become a regular ballet-goer on their own.

By joining the group you can get discounted third ring tickets to shows ($32 each!), as well as recommendations based on your interests and invitations to MOVES meet-ups.  The only catch is that in order to remain in the network you have to purchase at least two tickets in each of the ballet’s seasons.  Don’t worry, though, there are only two (winter and spring) and really, if you love the ballet like I do, that should be no trouble at all.

Not sure if you like the ballet?  Well, this is your opportunity to find out.  There is no upfront cost and no penalty (beyond group removal) for not seeing the minimum number of shows.  Currently playing is A Midsummer Night’s Dream which I have seen the NYCB perform before and it is breathtaking.  So go join!  And I’ll see you at the next meetup!

Note: You can also find the NYC Ballet and MOVES on Facebook.
