Food, Inc.

“The industry doesn’t want you to know the truth about what you’re eating. Because if you knew, you might not want to eat it.”

Thanks to my Tribeca Film newsletter I discovered a new documentary coming out called Food, Inc. which the folks at Tribeca are calling “the scariest movie of the year. [It] exposes the shocking failures of the American food system.”  Check out the official trailer:

Now as an informed vegan, I am well aware of many of the problems of our food industry.  However, I am looking forward to seeing this documentary because its creator is NOT a vegan (that I am aware of) and it does not appear to have a veg-agenda.  Instead, it seems to me that it will be looking at all aspects of the food industry and its shady practices.  Something that is long overdue.

For the full Tribeca Film article on the movie, go here.  And for those in NYC, this film opens up tomorrow, June 12 at Film Forum and has a limited engagement.  You can go here for ticket information.  It will also be opening across the country in upcoming weeks.

I won’t be able to get to see it this weekend, so if you get to, please let me know what you thought!
